Munitipality Duties

Referring to Articles 49-50 and 51 of Legislative Decree No. 118/77, the municipality is free to carry out a large number of works. It plays an indispensable and vital role in operations to develop and lead society if it had the necessary means and qualifications for planning and development.
Article 49 stipulates that: “the municipality is unrestrictedly responsible for:
1- Village and Town Planification
2- Streets Construction and Maintenance
3- Public Spaces Upgrade
4- Gardens and Parks Construction and Maintenance
5- Water and Lighting Network
6- Public Hygiene
7- Establishment of Public Services
8- Public Transportation and Communication Organization
9- The organization of ambulance, aid for the poor, firefighters and the construction of public shelters.
